In Midwolda there are two camping-sites. One is
equipped very modern and there is a nice camping park with a
trout pond in which the guests are allowed to fish.

This camping-site is very well equipped and is surrounded by bushes.
The camping site harboures 80 touristic and 106 permanent places and
furthermore a number of large fields for large groups of campers. All places
have electric and water connections. Adjacent to the reception there is a
cantine with a bar annex restaurant, where the athmosphere is very pleasant.
As the only one within the province of Groningen, the camping-site owns the
so called golden "millieubarometer". This is a waranty for
quality, safety and environmental care. Camping De Bouwte is located at a
quiet position next to fish- and boating water and the 400 hectare forrest
and nature reserve 'Midwolderbos', with its Tarpan horses that wander around
freely. The environment offers a choise of plants and animals, making
it a pleasure to walk or bike around. In the direct surroundings there are
plenty of possibilities to go out in the evenings. You can reach the
camping-site by turning from the A7 motorway onto the N362 in the direction

The trout pond. |
This is a small, well equipped, farm camping-site with a view of the surrounding
fields. The camping is partly surrounded by bushes. There is a trout pond on the
camping-site, in which the guests are allowed to fish. There is a possibility to rent a
caravan or some bikes.

You can reach the camping-site by turning from the A7 highway onto
the N362 in the direction of Midwolda. Follow the signs. At the traffic-lights you turn
right and enter Midwolda. After 2.5 km. you can see the entrance of the camping-site on
your left-hand side.
Touristic sights
Under "tourist office" on
this site you will find different touristics sights within the community of Scheemda. In
addition to these there is a choice of musea and other touristic attractions. Most of them
are within 35 km of Midwolda. The most important ones are: The Groninger Museum, The
Fortress Bourtange and Health Resort Fontana in Nieuweschans. On the internet you can get a preview of these attractions.
