Tourism - Oostwold-Airport

 

The Oostwold-Airport is situated at about 2 km from our village. Here you can take your first flying lesson, make sight-seeing flights or get your licence in parachuting. This page contains also information about the Dutch Historic Aircraft Company (DHAC)

 

 

Paracentre

 

 

At the paracentre Skydive Anywhere Blauwestad you can watch the parachutists or make a tandem jump. The speciallity of the Oostwold-Airport is that one can jump here from an altitude of 12.000 ft. (3,5 km.). The paraclub Skydive Anywhere Blauwestad organizes demonstration jumpings with a flag, football or a smoke-pot.

 

The options:

 

  • Parachuting lessons;
  • Jump from an altitude of 12.000 ft.;
  • Tandem jumping and demonstration jumping.

You can also go there if you are interested in making a sight-seeing flight above het Oldambt or your own residence. People who have flown for the first time can get a certificate. Would you like to experience the sensational feeling of flying yourself? At the airport you can make an appointment for your first flying lesson under supervision of an experienced instructor. Every two year on the monday after Whitsuntide, there is a spectaculair air show on the airport Oostwold. The show harbors both historic and modern aeroplanes.

Historical Warbirds

 

 

Since 1995 Tom Karst van der Meulen flies demonstrations in and outside our country with the only dutch stationed american fighter from W.O. II, the Mustang P-51 (1600 h.p.). Let your childhood wishes come true and experience an unforgettable flight in a real historical "warbird". The aeroplanes from the collection of the  Dutch Historic Aircraft Company ( DHAC ) are ready to fly.
